Regardless which coast you hail from, one thing everyone shares is the fact that summertime is the absolute best time to be a kit or replicar owner. When Total Performance (Wallingford, Connecticut) teamed up with the Right Coast Association this year, Total brought with them the Model T Nationals, held in conjunction with the Right Coast's larger Eastern States Nationals, allowing T owners a show of their own.
Though 'glass cars have been around since the late '40s, it took two cars, the VW-based dune buggy and the V-8-based T-bucket, to kickstart the fiberglass body aftermarket industry in the early '60s. Some 40-plus years later, the T-bucket kit car phenomenon is still going strong, and is now quite diverse as to the many styles of T you can build ('50s custom to '60s Fad or New Millenium with billet and polished aluminum pieces).
Located within the Eastern States Exposition Center in West Springfield, Massachusetts, this T-Bucket gathering included 175 acres of well-manicured grounds, loaded with smooth roads, automotive vendors, tasty foods, live entertainment (including a searing set by The Drifters), tech seminars, and thrill demonstrations.
