The Metrolina Association For The Blind Road Rallye:APR 26, Charlotte, NCThe Braille Road Rallye is a time/speed/distance rallye in which teams follow a road course from a starting point, through three checkpoints, and to the finish, where the team with the closest-to-the-official elapsed time is recognized. Each team will consist of a sighted driver and a blind navigator whose responsibility is to read Braille or large print directions to the driver, guiding them through the course. A wide variety of vehicles with "WOW" factor such as replicars, hot rods, and classic cars and trucks, are anticipated, as are celebrity participants. The rallye will be conducted with the professional assistance of the local Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) chapter. The finish will also feature a participant car show, a blindness awareness fair (open to the public), and a raffle.
