Run And Gun 2002: Runnin', Gunnin', And Rain

Brian Anderson performed well with his (No. 1) Lotus-inspired Ultralite S2K from World class Motorsports. The 1240-pound car is powered by a 240hp Honda 1988cc engine, and the combination brought Anderson victories in his class on all venues.

Clois Harlan's Blue B&B Cobra, No. 21, has a 361hp Ford 428 in the engine compartment. Harlan came home in Third on the autocross and road course.

Steve Pass brought his 550hp, Ford 347-powered FFR, No. 5, home in 1:14.86 on the road course, good for Second place in the Prepared Power Adder class.

Cones flying, No. 62, Jim Pass in his new C4 Vette design, the CS4E, cruises down the autocross. In Pass' first appearance at run And Gun, he brought his new design home in 7th place in his class. He runs a stock 300hp, 350ci Corvette LT1 under hood.

David Serchuk's Shell Valley 427, No. 34, employs a 600hp Ford 358 powerplant. The set-up helped Serchuk to a Second-place finish on the road course and the autocross.

Todd Biermann's No. 23 MidStates Cobra roared across the road course. Biermann uses a 500hp Ford 429 for power.

The Locost Lotus 7 clone of Stephen Brinkerhoff, No. 115, uses a 70hp Toyota engine to propel its 1125 pounds around the track. Brinkerhoff stunned the crowd by posting the quickest time of all competitors on the autocross, while defeating 40 Cobras on the road course.

John Chesnut blazed his No. 46 Dragon across the autocross and road course in first place in the Street Big Block class. Chesnut's fire-breather is equipped with a 520hp Chevy 427 engine.

Bill Frimpter's Contemporary, No. 43, raced down the road course, powered by afford 427 sideoiler that produces 496 hp and 500 ft-lb of torque.

No. 22, John Ciacchi III took his Guardsman Blue Contemporary Cobra down the road course to a solid 1:16.8 time, good for Third in the Prepared Big Block class. Ciacchi's Snake is equipped with a 750hp Ford 488ci engine.

No. 10, Lew Payne, brought home second-place finishes on the road and autocross tracks. His CMC Cobra uses a 300hp Ford 302 engine.

More at home in his Cobra, No. 3, Doug Reed, in his maroon Superformance, came away with a Prepared Big Block title on the road course, and a Second-place finish on the autocross. Reed's Snake has a Ford 408 underhood, for 500 hp.

Paul Carlson drove his No. 11 Dragon to a Second-place finish on the road course. The Dragon is powered by a 350ci Chevy engine that pumps out 355 hp.

No. 50, the GSR Corvette Grand Sport of Mike Miller, came in second on the road course and autocross...biding his time until the dragstrip action began. The Vette uses a 500hp Chevy 434 for its power.

Jim Harden's No. 222 MidStates Cobra comes to play with a 529ci Chevy under the hood, popping out close to 600 horses. Harden finished the autocross in Third place in the Prepared Big Block class.

Gary McDaniel's FFR, No. 31, uses a 345hp Ford 302 small-block for power, and he finished the road course in third place in his class.

Always in competition for Top Dog, No. 61, Bill Bonadio, in his Maseratti Birdcage-inspired CAR Specialist Dio Tipo 61, ran the autocross in 1:12.08 to win the Pro Power Adder crown. He also won on the road course, powered by his 325hp Ford 302.

Bruce Mackie brought his Pigeon Performance Cobras down from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. His No. 14 Snake is powered by a 350hp Ford 351Windsor engine, and the combination of car and driver was a competitive one on all venues.

Bill Belcher returned to Run And Gun in his Superformance, No. 7, powered by a 375hp Ford 351 engine. Belcher, always a top finisher, won then road course and the autocross in Street Small Block.

Bob Lightsey, No. 502, led the way during a practice lap. His Hunter Kit Cars Cobra runs a Chevy 502 engine that churns out 570 hp. Lightsey was in the trophy hunt on all three courses

Rick Lake's ERA, No. 29, is powered by a 452ci Ford, that puts out 350 hp. Lake cam in second on the autocross in Street Big Block.

Dave Bartlett takes his Shell Valley Cobra, No. 30, on a practice lap...note the grille. Bartlett's 230hp Ford 302 brought him a lot of excitement on the track.

Ken Williams brought his MidStates Cobra, No. 313, to the event and after a fourth-place finish on the road course, came home in fourth on the autocross as well. Williams uses a 425hp Ford 428 engine for power.

Bill Scholl put his No. 66 FFR through its paces on a road course practice lap. A 380hp Ford 302 gives the car its power.
