Whatever pieces Bagley wanted chromed went off to Chrome Masters in Nashville, Tennessee, while all of the Cobra's aluminum pieces were anodized by Precision Shooting Equipment in Tucson, Arizona. After the body came back from The Shop, Rick attacked the area inside the fenderwells with a two-stage epoxy from Eastwood that helps prevent rock chips and stars. Inside the cockpit, an aluminum-backed insulation was laid out before the carpet went in.
Bagley used an interior kit from Unique Motorcars to finish out the cockpit-having the bucket seats covered in black leather and a five-point Simpson restraint system bolted in place. On the dash are seven Stewart Warner gauges (including a reverse-throw 180-mph speedo) and steering is aided by an AC steering wheel.
The car was completed in the summer of 2003 and in about 15 months-not bad considering all of the custom fabrication that only extended the build time. But that's what you get when you work with reputable companies and good friends. And Rick Bagley is glad he knows both!
