Snider turned to Bill Parham and Southern Automotive to get the right powerplant for his roadster. Starting with a FE 390 block, the bore was increased .0040 for a final displacement of 418 cubes. Internally, the big block was fitted with a cast-iron 428CJ crank, Keith Black hypereutectic pistons, and Hastings moly rings. A single 750 Holley carb bolts to an Offy manifold, which is attached to a pair of Edelbrock RPM aluminum heads. MSD supplied the entire ignition system (coil, distributor, wires, etc.), and the whole shebang is bolted to a four-speed Top Loader trans. View Related Article
