Tim Allen's credo of "More power" echoes across the kit car arena, but it is about more than power...it is about performance--high-performance. The music that plays resonantly throughout most of today's stellar kit cars is not that of a stereo system...it is that purr and roar of the engine setup, as we look for more speed, quicker starts, better street and track capabilities, and better overall production from what we have chosen to put under the hood.
The cars highlighted in the sidebars below show that high-performance isn't all about engine size (though it helps). It is a mindset of the owner/driver, as well as an engine setup that includes the motor, horsepower, carburetion, tires, car weight, and those tweaks and accoutrements that produce more power and performance in automotive concert.
