Coker Tire Company, the world's largest supplier of classic and collector vehicle tires, has announced the availability of the Firestone Super Sports 775-15 tire, which was a factory option in gold-line for 1965 and 1966 model Chevrolet Corvettes. Also available is a red-line version of the same tire which was available as a factory option for 1967 model Corvettes.
The Super Sports tires are made in the USA using modern materials and technology. The brand new tire mold was created from the original Firestone mold drawings by Coker Tire. "Our engineer's paid tremendous attention to detail in the development of this tire." says Todd Harless, Director of Marketing for Coker Tire Company. "The sidewall engravings are a perfect match to the original tire used by Chevrolet as original equipment on Corvettes in 1965, 1966 and 1967." Using the original Firestone mold drawings, Coker pursued the ultimate NCRS (National Corvette Restorers Society) tire for concourse judging competition. "We have accomplished our goal of ultimate authenticity with this new tire," commented Corky Coker, President of Coker Tire.
