Summit Racing Superstore Now In GeorgiaConstruction will soon begin on a 25,000-square-foot Summit Racing Equipment Retail Superstore in McDonough, Georgia, just south of Atlanta.
Summit is typically viewed as a mail-order company (albeit a giant one) with its parts available only over the phone or on the Web. But that is changing as the company begins to open retail stores across the country. The Superstore will give Atlanta-area customers an opportunity to see Summit's products first-hand, talk to sales reps in person, and buy the parts they need to start working on their projects immediately.
The 25,000-square-foot Retail Superstore is based on the recently redesigned Tallmadge, Ohio, store, with a grand exterior and thousands of products for race, street, truck, and sport compact on display, plus a mobile electronics area that showcases the latest technology. As the world's largest mail-order and online supplier of high-performance automotive parts, Summit Racing Equipment is headquartered in Tallmadge, Ohio, with another Retail Superstore in Sparks, Nevada. For information on Summit's complete product offering, or to get a free catalog, call (800) 230-3030, or visit www.summitracing.com.

Thunder Ranch Open House & 904 UnveilingTom McBurnie, founder and president of Thunder Ranch Inc., announced a "first peek" of its soon-to-be-unveiled authentic replica of the legendary 904-Carrera GTS. The attributes of the Thunder Ranch 904 will closely, if not exactly, replicate many appointments of its predecessor. True to the original, the Thunder Ranch 904 has a fiberglass body that realizes sufficient stiffness because it is bonded directly to a beefy tube frame.
McBurnie stated: "Our 904 will include as many Porsche 911 parts as are available. The motor will be a 911 six-cylinder air-cooled racing powerplant," and available in both Gran Touring and Racing models. Pricing will be announced about the time you read this.
McBurnie hasn't been idle of late, as he also hosted an open house celebrating an expansion of his digs in El Cajon, California. The new 3,600-square-foot facility will be used as a "clean room" assembly area for his line of cars, which is also expanding to include speedsters, spyders, RSK's, the Riot, and the aforementioned 904 replicar.
