Scarab Racecar Back In Aluminum
In 1958, a young American, Woolworth fortune heir Lance Reventlow, created a Chevy-powered front-engine sports car that took the racing world by storm. With a handpicked team comprised of some of racing's best craftsmen and a "money is no object" mentality, Reventlow launched one of the first fundamentally all-American sports racers. Scarab-Motorsports is now offering an authentic aluminum-bodied reproduction of this famous front-engine sports car. The car will be sold as a complete roller with various paint options. It includes a brushed-finish aluminum body hand-fitted to a 4130 chrome-moly TIG-welded frame. The body is wire-edged as appropriate. The following components are installed: quick-change differential, Wilwood racing brake system, custom upper and lower A-arms fitted to C5 Corvette uprights, Stewart Warner gauges, Painless wiring harness, all lights and turn signals, Woodward steering components, safety fuel cell, aluminum radiator, Tilton pedal assembly, and correct-vintage wheels and tires.
The Scarab will be on display at the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Palm Beach, Florida, from March 28-April 1, 2007. For further details and updates, go to Scarab-Motorsports' Web site at www.scarab-motorsports.com, or call 480-747-4001.
