A hood up can only be a bad sign on our progress report. But the good news is the team at Hahn's Racecraft has removed the engine and transmission as we begin to prep the frame for powdercoating at Rick's Race Cars. Visible is the faithful addition of the cowl induction scoop to the tilt frontend. Here was our first oops: while opening the hood at the shop, my stray elbow hit the windshield, resulting in a crack.

The Cheetah frame is a stout piece as it comes from Shell Valley. Because of the deployment of the Ecotec engine in our ECOCAT, we were going to add a few braces for added engine support and stability. Oops number 2: the square tube has not arrived, so they're not yet installed.

The Classic Five Team III Wheels came in and are just plain gorgeous, and we could not wait to slide them onto the spindles. Oops number 3: we incorrectly measured the bolt circle and got exactly what we ordered, a 5 on 4.75 pattern when we needed 5 on 4.5-inch.

We leave the faithful KC readers with a grinning ECOCAT sneer (we wonder if those gremlins added that to the nose one late night), although by the time you read this, the frame will have been powdercoated. That part--and more--of the build will be in our next issue. We promise!
