Hello all- I'm am new to this site and am considering buying a FF MK4 but live in Georgia in an emissions county and from what little I've heard, it is difficult to title but not impossible. What the state site does say however is that all new kit cars must pass emissions. Any help on either title or emissions would be appreciated.

I have a very strange request -- my father built a 1927 Bugatti back in the late 70's. He died about 5 years ago, and I am rebuilding his kit car from the ground up so that my kids can enjoy the car as much as I did. He was featured in Kit Car Magazine (or Petersen's Kit Car" sometime between 1980 & 1984... and I'm having a Hell of a time finding out which one. I would be forever grateful if someone could flip through those years and look for a several page article on Luigi Candiani and his 1927 Bugatti Kit car and Mercedes Kit car. He was listed in the table of contents if I remember correctly. (I was 9) If you could send me the issue number, I couldn't thank you enough. I don't know if anyone still maintains this forum, but I'm looking for a way to tell what articles were in what issues. I bought a tuborcharged Fiberfab Aztec 7 that was supposed to have a dedicated write-up in an old issue of KitCar Magazine. I'd like to buy a back issue to keep with the car, but don't know which one to get. It was most likely in 1984, but could have been any time from 1982 to 1985. Is there an index somewhere? If I can just find out when it was published, I can keep an eye on ebay to buy the magazine. Thanks, Eric

hi cobra phil.. i am new to this forum.. but not to many others... i have moved this bookmark where i can easily find it.. so... just curious... are you having problems with the NO start hot... does It NOT CRANK with the starter motor.. or does it require you to hold your foot on the throttle slightly to get it to clear the flood from sitting hot.. or does it just crank and crank with nothing happening.. lets discuss this.. cranking with the starter hot.. yes... or no...??? if it cranks... but does not start.. do you have a timing light that you can clamp over the coil wire to see if you are getting spark while cranking??? can you also use a test light./circuit tester.. on the coil positive wire.. when you turn the key on.. depending on how the system is wired.. you will normally get 10 volts on the positive side of the coil.. when you turn it to the crank position.. it may increase over 12 volts.. as there is usually a bypass circuit to increase coil voltage ... do you have points in the ignition .. or electronic ignition..??? i loved the rover V8 points where you had an external screw to change the dwell reading.. at least on the 70 Rover 3500S LHD i had.. if you are having to hold the throttle open to get it to start... how much fuel pressure do you have??? can you do a full flow cranking test with the carb disconnected and the hose directed into a clear clean plastic soda bottle.. 2 or 3 liter size.. see if you get over a pint of fuel in 10 to 15 seconds.. but i would like you to closely examine the fuel .. use a magnet .. look for any rust particles that may stick to the magnet through the sides of the bottle.. that would indicate a better fuel filter before the fuel pump or carb is needed .. the rust particles.. look like red dust.. can hold the needle and seat open.. allowing fuel to overflow the carb and dribble down and out of the booster venturi flooding the engine when you shut it off hot...
