So far the foam sculpture is done, and it is now ready for clay modeling. At this stage the project is 3 inches smaller than the real deal, in length and width and about 1 inch in height. Also, at this stage, the project is about 25% in shape and dimensions and about 15% done in details. Go to this link http://orlandom.deviantart.com/journal/ to see pictures and this link for video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZS5o95c0ko. Frankly, they are a car that I am familiar with -- nothing more. I'm also in love with the concept of the Lotus Seven with its minimalist design. It an engine on four wheels and it just happens to have great performance. I'm not going to engage in competition. I just want a simple no frills andrenalin car that "maybe" has a heater installed. I have two 4th generation SS Camaros both of which are road worthy and I'd like to find plans for a chassis that will accept the running gear from these cars and permit a body layout similar to a Lotus Seven. I understand that the LS1 V8 is overkill for such a light car but I'm sure that I would have no problem detuning this power plant to behave appropriately. I might also be able to squeeze a bit more economy and longivity from an engine that is basically being put to sleep and hardly being tasked to push a car down the road. The rack and pinion steering, the 4-wheel ABS brakes, the 6 speed transmission all perform great with the heavy Camaro and would certainly be phenominal for a sports car. If I can find plans, I would be willing to attend the local vocational school to get a welding certification.

I came across a picture in a news article's associated gallery, and it is a car that I've not seen before, and the details lead me to think it is a fabricated car. Just curious if anyone has more information about this, or some leads that would get me started doing some research on this car. http://www.autoblog.com/gallery/2009-gordon-mccalls-motorworks-revival/full/#26 http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2009/08/09mccallparty_25_thumbnail.jpg I am particularly interested in this one, because the proportions are very nice, with varied details from 60s-70s era mid-engined italian cars... I love mid-engined cars, and that is where and when it all started. As my handle suggests, I prefer boxer style engines, and own two Subarus currently, and love the engines. I'd love to use one as a powerplant for a mid-engined car. A theoretical goal would be to use a rebuilt, balanced, blueprinted, and set up for forced induction EG33 flat 6 from an SVX (which is one of my Subarus...) Set up for twin intercooled turbocharging, laid out similarly to Ferrari 288 GTO's symmetrical arrangment would be great, and the EG33, while two pistons short, is still low, well featured, and has a rear-facing twin-intake throttle-body that is ready-made for mid engined placement, and parallel tract turbos, and less expensive to run and maintain than a Porsche turbocharged engine. With a longitudinal manual transaxle, with a limited slip differential, such as a Porsche unit, I think would be a very nice drivetrain in a car that looks like the one pictured, or several other replica, or original design fabricated mid-engined cars.
